The Russian government prepares new proposals as to improvement of the investment climate in the country
Next week the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev will hold a large meeting devoted to improvement of the investment climate. They think in the Kremlin that now when the peak of the crisis seems to be left behind it the right time for the Russian authorities to give some positive signals for the business. The favourable investment climate means not only impressive figures of economic growth and low tax rates, but is inseparably connected with the belief of investors that the country is the right place to put their money in.
A source of “Vremya novostey” in the Kremlin said that specialized departments have been working on proposals on how to amend the tax legislation, regulation of separate economic sectors so that they face the needs of investors, as well as on how to improve the judicial and law enforcement procedures. This was also reported yesterday to Vladimir Putin by the economic development minister Elvira Nabiullina, who promised that such proposals will be presented in early February.
Dmitry Medvedev said that it is the right time to seriously deal with improvement of the investment climate almost right after the New Year holidays.
