"CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN RUSSIA: RESULTS OF THE YEAR 2004"

One of the main goals of the Investor Protection Association consists in improving corporate governance in Russia. That is why, at the end of each year according to the already established tradition the IPA strikes a balance and awards companies and managers who demonstrated the greatest progress in this sphere.

On December 16, 2004, in the Marriott Grand Hotel the Association will hold the Annual Round Table "Corporate governance in Russia: results of the year" and the Annual Award Ceremony "Russian corporate governance leaders - 2004".

Among participants of the round table there are traditionally heads of the leading investment banks operating in Russia, institutional investors and the Russian stock exchanges, managers of the leading Russian issuers, representatives of the RF Government, independent directors, as well as Russian and foreign experts in corporate governance.

Pariticpants of the round table will discuss development of corporate governance as one of the decisive factors on the way of making individual Russian companies as well as the national economy in general more attractive for investors.

The agenda of the Round table will include discussion of results of the year and prospects of corporate governance development in Russia, assessment of corporate governance made by independent experts and representatives of investors.

The discussion will cover the latest amendments to the Russian legislation, as well as the practical corporate governance experience of the Russian companies.

The annual award ceremony "Russian corporate governance leaders - 2004" is to take place just after the Round table.

At the ceremony the IPA investors-members are to choose winners in the followng nominations:

• "Best corporate governance company".
• "Best corporate manager".
• "Best dividend policy".
• "Best annual financial statements".
• "Best investor relation system".
• "Best progress in corporate governance".
• "Poorest corporate governance ".
• "Company with the greatest impact on corporate governance development".

The ceremony will be crowned with the buffet supper for participants and guests.
